More About Us

We are committed to help you protect our most precious resource

South Africa, as the rest of the world, is becoming increasingly more aware of the need to protect our environment. Fortunately, numerous water and wastewater treatment processes exist specifically for this reason. There is however an enormous amount of pressure on the owners of water purification and sewage treatment works to ensure that the plants are operated and maintained at the highest possible standards to ensure its sustainable existence. This is where Enviro Metsi wishes to be of assistance.

We have been involved in a wide range of water- and wastewater treatment processes for various private industries as well as governmental departments all over South Africa. Even though the processes, plant configurations and sizes varied, our dedication remained the same: We are committed to help you protect our most precious resource.

Enviro Metsi consists of a team of water care professionals who ensure the optimum performance of any treatment system. We are able to adapt current and innovative new technology to our clients' specific needs. Whether the process is for municipal services, other publicly employed use or industrial purposes, we will ensure that we provide the best possible solutions to every unique situation.

What we Do

Enviro Metsi is continuously looking for ways in which to assist municipalities and other Water Services Authorities with the daunting task that they face when it comes to managing, operating and maintaining the Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities they are responsible for.

Enviro Metsi realizes that complying with all the legislative requirements set out by the Department of Water and Sanitation, while attending to the details of the day-to-day operation of a water purification or sewage treatment plant, can be a daunting task. By allowing Enviro Metsi to take care of the MANAGEMENT of a Water Services Works provides the owner of the works with the peace of mind of knowing that a dedicated team of professionals is involved in every aspect of this vital function.

Our dedicated team of Process Controllers, registered with, and classified by, the Department of Water and Sanitation, furthermore understands the need for a multi-disciplinary approach when dealing with water and wastewater treatment processes. For this reason we will OPERATE any system in such a way as to ensure peak performance of the water purification or sewage treatment system while ensuring the longest possible service runs of mechanical and electrical equipment through well planned and scheduled routine & preventative MAINTENANCE procedures, thereby minimizing unexpected breakdowns and excessive cost implications.

Our team of suitably qualified plant inspectors and assessors can also assist our clients by performing regular PLANT AND PROCESS AUDITS. Years of hands-on experience enable Enviro Metsi to make practical recommendations that will ensure the optimum performance of any Water Services Works while identifying possible complications in the treatment processes before these become critical.

These audits also relate to the BLUE DROP AND GREEN DROP requirements. Here Enviro Metsi can furthermore assist in the compilation, reviewing, updating or implementing the various work-plans and documents required as part of these programs. We are also happy to conduct “mock assessments” in preparation for an audit and/or would gladly interact with the Auditors in a support function to a Water Services Institution during these assessments.

Another key pillar in ensuring the best possible performance of any Water Services Works is the TRAINING of personnel. Enviro Metsi believes that this is a powerful means of promoting the development of an organization and the individual potential of its employees. We provide both informal hands-on training and QCTO-registered training to empower Process Controllers to keep on improving their skills.

Who We Are?

We are committed to help you protect our most precious resource. This is not only our motto but who we are.

At Enviro Metsi we provide a wide variety of water and wastewater related services to help manage South Africa's precious water resources. These include the management, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater plants, process monitoring as well as plant & process assessments, training of personnel involved in these processes and assistance with any of the Blue Drop / Green Drop assessment criteria.

While we go the extra mile to serve our customers, our involvement also impacts the community at large. We prefer to make use of local suppliers as well as local labour in order to uplift the local community. Where certain skills are lacking within the local community, we aim to develop these skills. This is aimed at empowering the local people, ultimately enriching their lives.

All of this is done while keeping our motto in mind: WE are committed to help YOU protect OUR most precious resource.

Enviro Metsi (Pty) Ltd has, since its founding in 1995, been dedicated to contribute towards the protection and improvement of our water resources through the Operation, Maintenance and Management of Water- and Wastewater Treatment Works in both the industrial and domestic fields.

From the get-go, Enviro Metsi endeavoured to provide the most appropriate treatment solution to our clients. This began with the process of developing and optimizing the single cell protein recovery process for use on abattoir effluent in 1995 and is continuing today as we aim to make use of the most effective technologies in our operation and maintenance practices.

Enviro Metsi has operated a wide range of water- and wastewater treatment processes for various private industries as well as governmental departments all over South Africa. These plants ranged in capacity all the way up to 20 Ml/d. Even though the processes, plant configurations and sizes varied, our dedication remained the same: We are committed to help you protect our most precious resource.

The need to recognise the men and women who so diligently look after our precious water resources is a matter that Enviro Metsi strongly supports. This combined with the work that the Water Institute of Southern Africa is doing to empower Process Controllers, increase their knowledge and improve their overall skills level prompted Enviro Metsi to become involved with the WISA Process Controller Division.

As part of our involvement we strongly support the annual WISA Process Controller Open Day by getting involved as a sponsor, exhibiting at the event and, given the opportunity, sharing some of our own experience with the Process Controllers attending the event. We are also proud to be involved as the sponsor of the “Best Process Controller: Wastewater 10Ml/d” –award that recognizes outstanding achievements by our commonly underappreciated water care champions in this crucial part of the water cycle.
